The review
Plants vs. Zombies is a quirky Tower Defense-style game of wits that might look like a cakewalk, but proves to be as challenging as it is fun. The game involves a homeowner using many varieties of plants to repel an army of zombies. The homeowner, along with a neighbor called Crazy Dave, must defend the homeowner’s house during day or night, in the front yard and the backyard (including the swimming pool), and even on the roof. Obstacles like a setting sun, creeping fog and a swimming pool add to the challenge, and with five game modes to dig into, the fun never dies!
On the 360, everyone can play together in a new co-op mode. Those wondering how Tower Defense works via co-op can look no further than the XBLA South Park title, although that involved a significant amount of motion and action. PvZ is rather static and grid-based, so who knows how it will work out.
